First of all: We were able to persuade the manufacturer to produce a final edition of the cool box. The delivery date would be March/April 2024 and the cool box can be pre-ordered now. The quantity ordered is already fixed and can no longer be changed. So if you want to secure a replacement for your T4 California, you should take it. The cool boxes have limited availability, once the ordered quantity is reached the item will no longer be available.
This cool box fits all Westfalia T4 models that have the RC1140 or RC1140-1 cool box installed. The only difference in these two boxes is the floor ventilation, which was no longer necessary in the RC1140-1 model (newer version). Here, the holes in the vehicle floor may have to be closed.
We offer the box as a replacement for Electrolux RC 1140 and Dometic RC 1140-1. It could also say Westfalia RC 1140. The box is controlled in exactly the same way with the panel on the front of the mirror. Plug is the same.
The box runs on 12 V and has lower power consumption thanks to the new compressor technology, compared to the old RC 1140. The lid and seal are reused from the old RC 1140. Dimensions 500*340 mm including unit
It is a little quieter because a fan is no longer required. Difference that the freezing temperature reaches a maximum of - 14 degrees at an outside temperature of 25 degrees.
Before installing, please check how the old box was attached. The height can also vary and may need to be lined from below so that the lid closes 100% and becomes tight. The height of the installed ones may vary.
The fastening and air flow have been changed in the new box, but can be converted. Mounting material is not included!
